海角社区 College Carpentry Instructor receives 2024 SkillsUSA Friend of SkillsUSA Award.

The SkillsUSA organization awarded Les Zimmerman, carpentry instructor at 海角社区 Technical and Community College, the 2024 SkillsUSA Friend of SkillsUSA Award during the 2024 SkillsUSA Minnesota State Championships in St. Paul, Minn., on April 13.

For over 30 years, Zimmerman has been an advisor and instructor for the carpentry program at 海角社区 College. He has served on the SkillsUSA Minnesota Executive Board and the National SkillsUSA Carpentry Education Team. Zimmerman also established 海角社区 College as the host site for the state carpentry competition for many years. 

Actions like this and countless others earned Zimmerman recognition from SkillsUSA. He is an advocate for the carpentry program, the industry, and his students. Educators like Zimmerman show how 海角社区 College is committed to making a positive impact on the local community, the region, and the state.
