"We were honored to meet with Senator Klobuchar to discuss the tremendous impact of the GMLN grant in supporting our veteran community," said ATCC’s Associate VP of Workforce Development, Tamara Arnott.
A unique feature of GMLN is its transparency—veterans can see exactly how their military training translates to academic credits before applying. "Our curriculum development team has carefully matched military occupations to college programs, ensuring veterans receive all the academic credit they've earned," explained Arnott. "This isn't just about recognizing service—it's about respecting veterans' time and taxpayer funding, creating a more efficient path to degree completion and civilian careers." The Senator's visit gave ATCC the opportunity to highlight our innovative approach to ensuring that veterans receive the education and career opportunities they deserve.
Another notable happening at ATCC is that we recently received a $750,000 Centers of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) Program grant to enhance veteran support services. This funding will strengthen ATCC's ability to identify and support veteran students through improved coordination, specialized coaching, and expanded outreach efforts.
