Hunter Gruchow and Sam Becker from the Powersports and Diesel Mechanics programs respectively, along with returning recipient Aidan Bauch from Powersports, were all recognized for their dedication and strong work ethic.
Aidan Bauch's story shows what ATCC students can achieve. After earning his first Mike Rowe scholarship last year, he went on to win first place in the Minnesota SkillsUSA Power Equipment Technology contest. That victory sent him to the National SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta, where he placed fifth in the country. As one of only five scholarship recipients nationwide, Aidan even got to meet Mike Rowe in person at an exclusive event. This year, his continued hard work earned him a second scholarship.
These achievements highlight what ATCC has always known – skilled trades offer real career opportunities. The college's hands-on programs in Powersports and Diesel Mechanics prepare students not just for jobs, but for success in competitive fields.
The Mike Rowe Works Foundation, which has awarded $11 million in scholarships since it began, focuses on students pursuing high-demand skilled trades. Their mission matches ATCC's approach: showing that technical education leads to rewarding careers while addressing the skills gap our economy faces.
With students like Aidan, Hunter, and Sam earning this level of recognition, ATCC continues to prove that choosing skilled trades isn't settling for less – it's preparing for a strong future in growing industries where hard work and expertise are valued.
