Tom grew up in North Minneapolis and has lived in other states such as Indiana, California and Alaska. Tom has several years of experience driving tractor trailer, straight trucks, buses and various other equipment. He has worked on or around trucks and buses for most of his adult life. Tom got his start as a farm to plant driver at Tri-Valley Growers hauling tomatoes in central valley California during the late 80’s.
Decades later he went to school here at 海角社区 College to become a professional driver. Tom graduated from the Professional Truck Driver program, where he received the Outstanding Student award and was named on the Dean’s list. He became part of the program’s advisory committee and was added to the substitute teacher roster for the program.
Tom started his professional career at a local company in Osakis, Minnesota, where he transported a variety of freight, mostly refrigerated food grade products, as well as dry freight, to and from distribution centers, warehouses, and processors. As a local driver, he covered Minnesota and all of the surrounding states, dropping and hooking up to 30 trailers per week. During summer break, Tom continues to drive truck, hauling dry van and refrigerated freight, along with grain and fertilizer.
